Alaska 2016

In Fairbanks there is a place called Paws for Adventure, where you can go dog sledding!
You can find this place here:

It was so fun!  We were able to pet the dogs and feed them treats.  All the dogs have cool or funny names.

My brother was old enough to take a mushing class.  He got to drive his own dog sled!! I wanted to do it too, but I wasn't old enough this time.  If you want to know what 'mushing' means go here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mushing

This is my brother, great-aunt, Grandma, me,
and my cousin Oscar.

Barrow, Alaska
Northern-most city in North America

This arch is actually whale bones.  The people who live here catch whales to eat their meat and use the bones for other stuff.

This is the Arctic Ocean.  We were standing on the frozen ocean!  We were the only people that far north, on the whole North American continent, when we took this picture!

The temperature was -20 degrees (Fahrenheit).

My favorite thing in Alaska was going ice fishing!

What you need to ice fish:
Warm clothes
Really big drill
Fishing pole
Bucket to sit on
Lots of patience

This is my brother fishing in one of the wooden huts on the ice.
You can see the fishing hole in the floor.
