Hawaii 2017

When we got checked into our hotel in Honolulu,
we rented a jeep so we could drive around the island.

This is my little brother practicing ''the hula dance''.  It was so cute!!!

This is Kailua Beach. A really big sea turtle swam up on the beach and stayed for a long time to get some sun.

We took surfing lessons with a Sunset Suzy instructor. I learned how to stand up on the board and it was really fun!!!!!

We went on a boat to a submarine ride. It was so cool!

This is me and my dad at our hotel, The Moana Surfrider. It is one of the oldest hotels in Honolulu with lots of history and interesting pictures. I thought it was pretty nice.

We went to the Pearl Harbor monument and museum. I learned that this was where World War 2 started. Japanese fighter planes bombed the ships and the island and started the war. The war ended when the Americans dropped a bomb on Japan and killed thousands of people.

We went to go eat and then got shaved ice after, almost every night!!

We went to the shops, and saw lots of street performers. There were a lot of  ABC stores, they have toiletries, clothing, snacks, and souvenirs.  Hawaii was a fun place to visit!!!!!

Europe 2015

If you want to get to Europe from the United States, you have to get on an airplane!  Or take a boat...but, that would take forever.

Liechtenstein
This is a TINY country near Switzerland!  They still have a royal family that lives in a castle.

Switzerland

This is an ice cave we visited at the top of Mount Titlis in Switzerland.  You can walk through it.  Even the floor was slippery ice!

At the top of Mount Titlis there is a ski lift that takes you across the mountain to see the view.  It is amazing!!!!  There is also a suspension bridge that you can walk on that makes you feel like you're floating on top of the mountains.

We rode trains everywhere!!

In Roche de Naye, Switzerland, you can stay in a yurt!  This was our hotel for a couple of nights.

Paris, France
You have to visit at least once!!

Australia & Tasmania 2016

This is the Opera house in Sydney, Australia. It looks like shark fins.

At Featherdale Wildlife Park we got to pet a koala. They really smell like eucalyptus, because that's what they eat. They are really fluffy.

This is a kangaroo. At Bonorong in Tasmania you can pet, feed, and take pictures with them.

This is Breckendon, Tasmania.  We stayed on a working sheep farm and fed the animals. There was a cat name Moddy who came into our cabin. She was so soft and cuddly! We also rode bikes around the farm.

We went back to Sydney and rode the train to Karunda Zoo, then rode the Skyrail back over the rainforest.

This was a ground and water vehicle called a "Duck".

We visited an Aboriginal village and saw dances, dot art, spear throwers, and boomerangs.

We played on the beach at Palm Cove all day! I loved all the beaches.

Snorkeling and Seabob diving at the coral reef.  Seabob diving was awesome! I wasn't old enough to do it myself, but the instructor let me control his Seabob while he held onto the back.

We visited Ayers Rock (Uluru) and took a camel ride through the desert. It was so fun!! The camel's breath is horrible and their teeth are green. Their faces looked like a horse, I thought.

Visiting the cockpit after landing back in the U.S.

New York 2015

This is the Empire State Building in New York!

Another New York symbol that people know is the
Statue
of Liberty!! This statue in my picture was just a display at the Macy's store.  The real statue is on Liberty Island.

Go here to learn about it:

This was the ferry boat ride in New York Harbor.  You can see the Statue of Liberty from the boat.  But, you can also go to the island and see it up close too.

Macy's Department Store is the
biggest store I have ever seen.
I think there were seven or eight levels.

We rode the subway everywhere (underground train)!  You can get places quicker that way.  The streets are crowded with cars!

Times Square is another famous place in New York City.  There are HUGE tv screens on the corners of buildings that have advertisements on them.  There are lots of shops too (the M&M candy shop was my favorite).  It's hard to see everything because there are so many lights, and honking horns, and people!  We stayed close to Grandma or mom.

Bryant Park was fun.
It was in the middle of the city.  You can juggle, play games, eat, or just hang out there. You don't have to bring your own games or juggling balls- they have it all there!

If you get hungry there are so many food trucks in the city.  There are ice cream trucks in the summer too!

Alaska 2016

In Fairbanks there is a place called Paws for Adventure, where you can go dog sledding!
You can find this place here:

It was so fun!  We were able to pet the dogs and feed them treats.  All the dogs have cool or funny names.

My brother was old enough to take a mushing class.  He got to drive his own dog sled!! I wanted to do it too, but I wasn't old enough this time.  If you want to know what 'mushing' means go here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mushing

This is my brother, great-aunt, Grandma, me,
and my cousin Oscar.

Barrow, Alaska
Northern-most city in North America

This arch is actually whale bones.  The people who live here catch whales to eat their meat and use the bones for other stuff.

This is the Arctic Ocean.  We were standing on the frozen ocean!  We were the only people that far north, on the whole North American continent, when we took this picture!

The temperature was -20 degrees (Fahrenheit).

My favorite thing in Alaska was going ice fishing!

What you need to ice fish:
Warm clothes
Really big drill
Fishing pole
Bucket to sit on
Lots of patience

This is my brother fishing in one of the wooden huts on the ice.
You can see the fishing hole in the floor.
